"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."
"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."
"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."
"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."
The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.
Now replacing the place of the pencil with you. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.
Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.
When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.
Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said,
"Richness, can you take me with you?"
Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."
Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!"
"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.
Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."
"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"
Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.
Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder,
Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?"
"It was Time," Knowledge answered.
"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."

Synopsis: The backdrop of the film is sports. The film deals with the game of Cricket. Antagonism for World Cupp 2011, Indians team is going on and teams from different countries are participating. One of the very strong player Ravi Indulkar from India.

In the end of the last decade of the 20th century, a slow but sure dispute between gangsters created roughness in the underworld. Some very high profile people and businessman were extorted, but the media covered this news extensively and the government took a strict action against the underworld.

And the braking impact was created when home minister R.R.Patil completely banned the dance bars in Mumbai.

In such conditions when circumstances was not so good. Then underworld centralized attention on sports as a source of making money, and they aimed the most glamorous game "Cricket". Ravi Kapoor is playing the main lead, as Caption Ravi Indulkar of the Indian Cricket team. His four friends Rajpal, Hiten, Irfan and Balwinder, they fix a World Cupp match held in 2007 against Pakistan with a bookie- Shobhan. And then the twist as always they are exposed by press reporter Balakrishnan. BICI bans the caption Ravi Indulkar and his four teammates for four years. Ravi's girlfriend Soha (Manisha Chetterjee) also leaves him because of his deeds and in the mean while Ravi also loses his dad.

The coach once again gives chance to Ravi and his four teammates after proving their patriotism to play World Cupp 2011. Once again India faces its arch rivals Pakistan in final. Everyone has a doubt in their mind and as we know history repeat itself, king of bookies Shobhan once again tries to fix the match with the help of Ravi. This time Ravi refuses his offer, in retaliation he kidnaps Ravi's girlfriend Soha who is Physiotherapist ofIndian cricket team . As soon as Ravi comes to know about Soha's kidnapping he informs the Home minister who then puts a encounter specialist on this job. The encounter specialist rescues Soha at the risk of his life. On the other hand Ravi is struggling to win World Cupp 2011.

Synopsis: This is a fast-paced and gripping thriller, murder mystery. A boy, Raam, is charged with the murder of his mother, Archana. Somersaulting Coin

This trick requires a lot of practice before you can perform it effectively. If you are very proficient with this trick, the coin will look as if it is alive. This is also a very good introductory routine before performing other coin conjuring magic.

1. Place a large coin between your index and middle fingers.

2. Raise your index finger to tip the coin to roll over to the space between your middle and ring fingers.

3. Continue to raise your middle finger to tip the coin to roll over to the space between the ring and little fingers.

4. Continue to raise your ring finger and then the little finger tipping the coin to somersault until it drops off your hand.

5. You can catch the coin and place it back to the beginning position with the same hand and repeat the trick again.

6. You can also reverse the motions when the coin is at the space between the ring and little finger.

Snappy Surprise

This is a very good party trick for Christmas and New Year parties but it has very ill effects for the nervous people.

1. Tell your audience to pay attention to your left palm while you are turning your right hand index finger in circles on top of it.

2. As your audience are paying attention to your left palm, you suddenly open both palms outward with a big snapping noise and lots of confetti flying out from your palms.

Your audience will be stunned and they might even scream.

3. You need to make a snapper for this tick. Cut 2 pieces of cardboard or thin plywood as the drawing with roughly the size of 4cm x 5cm.

4. Loop a rubber band round both pieces on the indentation area.

The Performance

5. Turn the snapper inside out from the bottom of the pieces. Practise the snap by throwing the snapper in the air.

6. You need to be very careful at this stage or you could be snapped by the snapper. Before performing the trick hide the turned snapper inside you right palm with a handful of confetti.

Tips:
Before your performance draw a crowd to surround you closely. Take you time to draw their attention towards the centre of your left palm. The more they are concentrated, the bigger the shock will be produced.

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day, the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

"Good day, Mistress Crow," he cried. "How well you are looking today: how glossy your feathers; how bright your eye. I feel sure your voice must surpass that of other birds, just as your figure does; let me hear but one song from you that I may greet you as the Queen of Birds."
The Crow lifted up her head and began to caw her best, but the moment she opened her mouth the piece of cheese fell to the ground, only to be snapped up by Master Fox.
"That will do," said he. "That was all I wanted. In exchange for your cheese I will give you a piece of advice for the future: "Do not trust flatterers."

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

A shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf! Wolf!" and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for their pains.
The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. The Shepherd-boy, now really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror: "Pray, do come and help me; the Wolf is killing the sheep"; but no one paid any heed to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. The Wolf, having no cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.
There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth.

The Ant and the Grasshopper

In a field one summer's day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart's content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
"Why not come and chat with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling in that way?"
"I am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same."
"Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; "We have got plenty of food at present." But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil.
When the winter came the Grasshopper had no food and found itself dying of hunger - while it saw the ants distributing every day corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer. Then the Grasshopper knew: It is best to prepare for days of need.

The Frog Prince

One fine evening a young princess put on her bonnet and clogs, and went out to take a walk by herself in a wood; and when she came to a cool spring of water with a rose in the middle of it, she sat herself down to rest a while. Now she had a golden ball in her hand, which was her favourite plaything; and she was always tossing it up into the air, and catching it again as it fell.
After a time she threw it up so high that she missed catching it as it fell; and the ball bounded away, and rolled along on the ground, until at last it fell down into the spring. The princess looked into the spring after her ball, but it was very deep, so deep that she could not see the bottom of it. She began to cry, and said, 'Alas! if I could only get my ball again, I would give all my fine clothes and jewels, and everything that I have in the world.'
Whilst she was speaking, a frog put its head out of the water, and said, 'Princess, why do you weep so bitterly?'
'Alas!' said she, 'what can you do for me, you nasty frog? My golden ball has fallen into the spring.'
The frog said, 'I do not want your pearls, and jewels, and fine clothes; but if you will love me, and let me live with you and eat from off your golden plate, and sleep on your bed, I will bring you your ball again.'
'What nonsense,' thought the princess, 'this silly frog is talking! He can never even get out of the spring to visit me, though he may be able to get my ball for me, and therefore I will tell him he shall have what he asks.'
So she said to the frog, 'Well, if you will bring me my ball, I will do all you ask.'
Then the frog put his head down, and dived deep under the water; and after a little while he came up again, with the ball in his mouth, and threw it on the edge of the spring.
As soon as the young princess saw her ball, she ran to pick it up; and she was so overjoyed to have it in her hand again, that she never thought of the frog, but ran home with it as fast as she could.

The frog called after her, 'Stay, princess, and take me with you as you said,'
But she did not stop to hear a word.
The next day, just as the princess had sat down to dinner, she heard a strange noise - tap, tap - plash, plash - as if something was coming up the marble staircase, and soon afterwards there was a gentle knock at the door, and a little voice cried out and said:

'Open the door, my princess dear,
Open the door to thy true love here!
And mind the words that thou and I said
By the fountain cool, in the greenwood shade.'

Then the princess ran to the door and opened it, and there she saw the frog, whom she had quite forgotten. At this sight she was sadly frightened, and shutting the door as fast as she could came back to her seat.
The king, her father, seeing that something had frightened her, asked her what was the matter.
'There is a nasty frog,' said she, 'at the door, that lifted my ball for me out of the spring this morning. I told him that he should live with me here, thinking that he could never get out of the spring; but there he is at the door, and he wants to come in.'
While she was speaking the frog knocked again at the door, and said:

'Open the door, my princess dear,
Open the door to thy true love here!
And mind the words that thou and I said
By the fountain cool, in the greenwood shade.'

Then the king said to the young princess, 'As you have given your word you must keep it; so go and let him in.'
She did so, and the frog hopped into the room, and then straight on - tap, tap - plash, plash - from the bottom of the room to the top, till he came up close to the table where the princess sat.
'Pray lift me upon chair,' said he to the princess, 'and let me sit next to you.'
As soon as she had done this, the frog said, 'Put your plate nearer to me, that I may eat out of it.'
This she did, and when he had eaten as much as he could, he said, 'Now I am tired; carry me upstairs, and put me into your bed.' And the princess, though very unwilling, took him up in her hand, and put him upon the pillow of her own bed, where he slept all night long.

As soon as it was light the frog jumped up, hopped downstairs, and went out of the house.
'Now, then,' thought the princess, 'at last he is gone, and I shall be troubled with him no more.'
But she was mistaken; for when night came again she heard the same tapping at the door; and the frog came once more, and said:

'Open the door, my princess dear,
Open the door to thy true love here!
And mind the words that thou and I said
By the fountain cool, in the greenwood shade.'

And when the princess opened the door the frog came in, and slept upon her pillow as before, till the morning broke. And the third night he did the same. But when the princess awoke on the following morning she was astonished to see, instead of the frog, a handsome prince, gazing on her with the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen and standing at the head of her bed.
He told her that he had been enchanted by a spiteful fairy, who had changed him into a frog; and that he had been fated so to abide till some princess should take him out of the spring, and let him eat from her plate, and sleep upon her bed for three nights.
'You,' said the prince, 'have broken his cruel charm, and now I have nothing to wish for but that you should go with me into my father's kingdom, where I will marry you, and love you as long as you live.'
The young princess, you may be sure, was not long in saying 'Yes' to all this; and as they spoke a brightly coloured coach drove up, with eight beautiful horses, decked with plumes of feathers and a golden harness; and behind the coach rode the prince's servant, faithful Heinrich, who had bewailed the misfortunes of his dear master during his enchantment so long and so bitterly, that his heart had well-nigh burst.
They then took leave of the king, and got into the coach with eight horses, and all set out, full of joy and merriment, for the prince's kingdom, which they reached safely; and there they lived happily a great many years.

The Twelve Dancing Princesses

There was a king who had twelve beautiful daughters. They slept in twelve beds all in one room and when they went to bed, the doors were shut and locked up. However, every morning their shoes were found to be quite worn through as if they had been danced in all night. Nobody could find out how it happened, or where the princesses had been.
So the king made it known to all the land that if any person could discover the secret and find out where it was that the princesses danced in the night, he would have the one he liked best to take as his wife, and would be king after his death. But whoever tried and did not succeed, after three days and nights, they would be put to death.
A king's son soon came. He was well entertained, and in the evening was taken to the chamber next to the one where the princesses lay in their twelve beds. There he was to sit and watch where they went to dance; and, in order that nothing could happen without him hearing it, the door of his chamber was left open. But the king's son soon fell asleep; and when he awoke in the morning he found that the princesses had all been dancing, for the soles of their shoes were full of holes.
The same thing happened the second and third night and so the king ordered his head to be cut off.
After him came several others; but they all had the same luck, and all lost their lives in the same way.
Now it happened that an old soldier, who had been wounded in battle and could fight no longer, passed through the country where this king reigned, and as he was travelling through a wood, he met an old woman, who asked him where he was going.
'I hardly know where I am going, or what I had better do,' said the soldier; 'but I think I would like to find out where it is that the princesses dance, and then in time I might be a king.'
'Well,' said the old woman, 'that is not a very hard task: only take care not to drink any of the wine which one of the princesses will bring to you in the evening; and as soon as she leaves you pretend to be fast asleep.'

Then she gave him a cloak, and said, 'As soon as you put that on you will become invisible, and you will then be able to follow the princesses wherever they go.' When the soldier heard all this good advice, he was determined to try his luck, so he went to the king, and said he was willing to undertake the task.
He was as well received as the others had been, and the king ordered fine royal robes to be given him; and when the evening came he was led to the outer chamber.
Just as he was going to lie down, the eldest of the princesses brought him a cup of wine; but the soldier threw it all away secretly, taking care not to drink a drop. Then he laid himself down on his bed, and in a little while began to snore very loudly as if he was fast asleep.
When the twelve princesses heard this they laughed heartily; and the eldest said, 'This fellow too might have done a wiser thing than lose his life in this way!' Then they rose and opened their drawers and boxes, and took out all their fine clothes, and dressed themselves at the mirror, and skipped about as if they were eager to begin dancing.
But the youngest said, 'I don't know why it is, but while you are so happy I feel very uneasy; I am sure some mischance will befall us.'
'You simpleton,' said the eldest, 'you are always afraid; have you forgotten how many kings' sons have already watched in vain? And as for this soldier, even if I had not given him his sleeping draught, he would have slept soundly enough.'
When they were all ready, they went and looked at the soldier; but he snored on, and did not stir hand or foot: so they thought they were quite safe.
Then the eldest went up to her own bed and clapped her hands, and the bed sank into the floor and a trap-door flew open. The soldier saw them going down through the trap-door one after another, the eldest leading the way; and thinking he had no time to lose, he jumped up, put on the cloak which the old woman had given him, and followed them.
However, in the middle of the stairs he trod on the gown of the youngest princess, and she cried out to her sisters, 'All is not right; someone took hold of my gown.'

'You silly creature!' said the eldest, 'it is nothing but a nail in the wall.'
Down they all went, and at the bottom they found themselves in a most delightful grove of trees; and the leaves were all of silver, and glittered and sparkled beautifully. The soldier wished to take away some token of the place; so he broke off a little branch, and there came a loud noise from the tree. Then the youngest daughter said again, 'I am sure all is not right -- did not you hear that noise? That never happened before.'
But the eldest said, 'It is only our princes, who are shouting for joy at our approach.'
They came to another grove of trees, where all the leaves were of gold; and afterwards to a third, where the leaves were all glittering diamonds. And the soldier broke a branch from each; and every time there was a loud noise, which made the youngest sister tremble with fear. But the eldest still said it was only the princes, who were crying for joy.
They went on till they came to a great lake; and at the side of the lake there lay twelve little boats with twelve handsome princes in them, who seemed to be waiting there for the princesses.
One of the princesses went into each boat, and the soldier stepped into the same boat as the youngest. As they were rowing over the lake, the prince who was in the boat with the youngest princess and the soldier said, 'I do not know why it is, but though I am rowing with all my might we do not get on so fast as usual, and I am quite tired: the boat seems very heavy today.'
'It is only the heat of the weather,' said the princess, 'I am very warm, too.'
On the other side of the lake stood a fine, illuminated castle from which came the merry music of horns and trumpets. There they all landed, and went into the castle, and each prince danced with his princess; and the soldier, who was still invisible, danced with them too. When any of the princesses had a cup of wine set by her, he drank it all up, so that when she put the cup to her mouth it was empty. At this, too, the youngest sister was terribly frightened, but the eldest always silenced her.

They danced on till three o'clock in the morning, and then all their shoes were worn out, so that they were obliged to leave. The princes rowed them back again over the lake (but this time the soldier placed himself in the boat with the eldest princess); and on the opposite shore they took leave of each other, the princesses promising to come again the next night.
When they came to the stairs, the soldier ran on before the princesses, and laid himself down. And as the twelve, tired sisters slowly came up, they heard him snoring in his bed and they said, 'Now all is quite safe'. Then they undressed themselves, put away their fine clothes, pulled off their shoes, and went to bed.
In the morning the soldier said nothing about what had happened, but determined to see more of this strange adventure, and went again on the second and third nights. Everything happened just as before: the princesses danced till their shoes were worn to pieces, and then returned home. On the third night the soldier carried away one of the golden cups as a token of where he had been.
As soon as the time came when he was to declare the secret, he was taken before the king with the three branches and the golden cup; and the twelve princesses stood listening behind the door to hear what he would say.
The king asked him. 'Where do my twelve daughters dance at night?'
The soldier answered, 'With twelve princes in a castle underground.' And then he told the king all that had happened, and showed him the three branches and the golden cup which he had brought with him.
The king called for the princesses, and asked them whether what the soldier said was true and when they saw that they were discovered, and that it was of no use to deny what had happened, they confessed it all.
So the king asked the soldier which of the princesses he would choose for his wife; and he answered, 'I am not very young, so I will have the eldest.' -- and they were married that very day, and the soldier was chosen to be the king's heir.

باروچی خانے کی دھندلی فضا میں بجلی کا ایک اندھا قمقمہ چراغِ گور کی مانند اپنی سرخ روشنی پھیلا رہا تھا۔ دھوئیں سے اٹی ہوئی دیواریں ہیبتناک دیووں کی طرح انگڑائیاں لیتی ہوئی معلوم ہو رہی تھیں۔ چبوترے پر بنی ہوئی انگیٹھیوں میں آگ کی آخری چنگاریاں ابھر ابھر کر اپنی موت کا ماتم کر رہی تھیں۔ ایک برقی چولھے پر رکھی ہوئی کیتلی کا پانی نہ معلوم کس چیز پر خاموش ہنسی ہنس رہا تھا۔ دور کونے میں، پانی کے نل کے پاس ایک چھوٹی عمر کا لڑکا بیٹھا برتن صاف کرنے میں مشغول تھا ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ یہ انسپکٹر صاحب کا نوکر تھا۔
برتن صاف کرتے وقت یہ لڑکا کچھ گنگنا رہا تھا، یہ الفاظ ایسے تھے جو اسکی زباں سے بغیر کوشش کے نکل رہے تھے۔
"جی آیا صاحب، جی آیا صاحب ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ بس ابھی صاف ہوجاتے ہیں صاحب۔"
ابھی برتنوں کو راکھ سے صاف کرنے کے بعد انہیں پانی سے دھو کر قرینے سے رکھنا بھی تھا، اور یہ کام جلدی سے نہ ہو سکتا تھا۔ لڑکے کی آنکھیں نیند سے بند ہوئی جا رہی تھیں۔ سر سخت بھاری ہو رہا تھا مگر کام کئے بغیر آرام، یہ کیونکر ممکن تھا۔
برقی چولھا بدستور ایک شور کے ساتھ نیلے شعلوں کو اپنے حلق سے اگل رہا تھا۔ کیتلی کا پانی اسی انداز میں کھل کھلا کر ہنس رہا تھا۔
دفعتاً لڑکے نے نیند کے ناقابلِ مغلوب حملے کو محسوس کرتے ہوئے اپنے جسم کو ایک جنبش دی اور "جی آیا صاحب، جی آیا صاحب" گنگناتا ہوا پھر کام میں مشغول ہوگیا۔
دیوار گیروں پر چنے ہوئے برتن اس لڑکے کو ایک غیر مختتم ٹکٹکی لگائے دیکھ رہے تھے۔ پانی کے نل سے روزانہ ایک ہی واقعہ دیکھ قطروں کی صورت میں آنسو ٹپ ٹپ گر رہے تھے۔ بجلی کا قمقمہ حیرت سے اس لڑکے کی طرف دیکھ رہا تھا۔ کمرے کی فضا سسکیاں بھرتی ہوئی معلوم ہو رہی تھی۔
"قاسم ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ قاسم"
"جی آیا صاحب" لڑکا جو انہی الفاظ کی گردان کر رہا تھا۔ بھاگا ہوا اپنے آقا کے پاس گیا۔
انسپکٹر صاحب نے کمبل سے منہ نکالا، اور لڑکے پر خفا ہوتے ہوئے کہا۔ "بیوقوف کے بچے، آج پھر یہاں صراحی اور گلاس رکھنا بھول گیا ہے۔"
"ابھی لایا صاحب ۔۔۔۔۔۔ ابھی لایا صاحب۔"
کمرے میں صراحی اور گلاس رکھنے کے بعد وہ ابھی برتن صاف کرنے کیلیے بیٹھا ہی تھا کہ پھر اسے کمرے سے آواز آئی۔
"قاسم ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ قاسم"
"جی آیا صاحب" قاسم بھاگتا ہوا اپنے آقا کے پاس گیا۔
"بمبئی کا پانی کس قدر خراب ہے۔ جاؤ پارسی کے ہوٹل سے سوڈا لیکر آؤ۔ بس بھاگے ہوئے جاؤ، سخت پیاس لگ رہی ہے۔"
قاسم بھاگا ہوا گیا اور پارسی کے ہوٹل سے جو گھر سے قریباً نصف میل کے فاصلے پر واقع تھا، سوڈے کی بوتل لے آیا اور اپنے آقا کو گلاس میں ڈال کر دی۔
"اب تم جاؤ، مگر اس وقت تک کیا کر رہے ہو، برتن صاف نہیں ہوئے کیا؟"
"ابھی صاف ہو جاتے ہیں صاحب۔"
"اور ہاں، برتن صاف کرنے کے بعد میرے سیاہ بوٹ کو پالش کر دینا مگر دیکھنا احتیاط رہے، چمڑے پر کوئی خراش نہ آئے، ورنہ ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔"
قاسم کو "ورنہ" کے بعد کا جملہ بخوبی معلوم تھا۔ "بہت اچھا صاحب" کہتے ہوئے وہ باورچی خانہ میں واپس چلا گیا، اور برتن صاف کرنا شروع کر دیے۔
اب نیند اسکی آنکھوں میں سمٹی چلی آرہی تھی۔ پلکیں آپس میں ملی جا رہی تھیں، سر میں سیسہ اتر رہا تھا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔۔یہ خیال کرتے ہوئے کہ صاحب کے بوٹ ابھی پالش کرنے ہیں۔ قاسم نے اپنے سر کو زور سے جنبش دی، اور وہی راگ الاپنا شروع کردیا۔
"جی آیا صاحب، جی آیا صاحب ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ بوٹ ابھی صاف ہوجاتے ہیں صاحب۔"
مگر نیند کا طوفان ہزار بند باندھنے پر بھی نہ رکا۔ اب اسے محسوس ہونے لگا کہ نیند ضرور غلبہ پا کر رہے گی۔ لیکن ابھی برتنوں کو دھو کر انہیں اپنی اپنی جگہ پر رکھنا باقی تھا۔ اس وقت ایک عجیب خیال اسکے دماغ میں آیا۔ "بھاڑ میں جائیں برتن، اور چولھے میں جائیں بوٹ۔۔۔۔کیو ں نہ تھوڑی دیر اسی جگہ پر سو جاؤں، اور پھر چند لمحات آرام کرنے کے بعد۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔۔۔"
اس خیال کو باغیانہ تصور کرتے ہوئے قاسم نے ترک کردیا اور برتنوں پر جلدی جلدی راکھ ملنا شروع کردی۔
تھوڑی دیر کے بعد جب نیند پھر غالب آئی تو اسکے جی میں آیا کہ ابلتا ہوا پانی اپنے سر پر انڈیل لے اور اسطرح اس غیر مرئی طاقت سے جو اسکے کام میں حارج ہو رہی تھی، نجات پائے، مگر اتنا حوصلہ نہ پڑا۔
بصد مشکل منہ پر پانی کے چھینٹے مار مار کر اسنے برتنوں کو بالآخر صاف کر ہی لیا۔ یہ کام کرنے کے بعد اسنے اطمینان کا سانس لیا۔ اب وہ آرام سے سو سکتا تھا۔ اور نیند۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔۔وہ نیند، جس کیلیے اسکی آنکھیں اور دماغ شدت سے انتظار کر رہے تھے، اب بالکل نزدیک تھی۔
باروچی خانے کی روشنی گل کرنے کے بعد قاسم نے باہر برآمدے میں اپنا بستر بچھایا اور لیٹ گیا۔ اور اس سے پہلے کہ نیند اسے اپنے آرام دہ بازوؤں میں تھام لے، اسکے کان "بوٹ، بوٹ" کی آوازوں سے گونج اٹھے۔
"بہت اچھا صاحب، ابھی پالش کرتا ہوں" بڑبڑاتا ہوا قاسم بستر سے اٹھا۔ جیسے اسکے آقا نے ابھی بوٹ روغن کرنے کیلیے حکم دیا ہے۔
ابھی قاسم بوٹ کا ایک پیر بھی اچھی طرح پالش کرنے نہ پایا تھا کہ نیند کے غلبے نے اسے وہیں پر سلا دیا۔
سورج کی خونیں کرنیں اس مکان کے شیشوں سے نمودار ہوئیں۔۔۔۔۔ ۔۔۔قاسم کی کتابِ حیات میں ایک اور پُر از مشقت باب کا اضافہ ہوگیا۔
صبح جب انسپکٹر صاحب نے اپنا نوکر باہر برآمدے میں بوٹوں کے پاس سویا ہوا دیکھا تو اسے ٹھوکر مار کر جگاتے ہوئے کہا۔ "یہ سور کی طرح یہاں بیہوش پڑا ہے اور مجھے خیال تھا کہ اس نے بوٹ صاف کر لئے ہونگے۔۔۔۔۔ ۔۔نمک حرام۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔ابے قاسم۔"
"جی آیا صاحب۔"
قاسم کے منہ سے اتنا ہی نکلا تھا کہ اسنے اپنے ہاتھ میں بوٹ صاف کرنے کا برش دیکھا۔ فوراً ہی اس معاملے کو سمجھتے ہوئے اسنے لرزتی ہوئی آواز میں کہا۔
"میں سو گیا تھا صاحب، مگر۔۔۔۔۔مگ ر بوٹ ابھی پالش ہو جاتے ہیں صاحب۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔"
یہ کہتے ہوئے اس نے جلدی جلدی بوٹ کو برش سے رگڑنا شروع کردیا۔
بوٹ پالش کرنے کے بعد اسنے اپنا بستر تہہ کیا اور اسے اوپر کے کمرے میں رکھنے چلا گیا۔

قاسم بھاگا ہوا نیچے آیا اور اپنے آقا کے پاس کھڑا ہو گیا۔
"دیکھو، آج ہمارے یہاں مہمان آئینگے۔ اسلئے باورچی خانے کے تمام برتن اچھی طرح صاف کر رکھنا۔۔۔۔۔ ۔فرش بھی دھلا ہوا ہونا چاہیئے، اسکے علاوہ تمھیں ملاقاتی کمرے کی تصویروں، میزوں اور کرسیوں کو بھی صاف کرنا ہوگا۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔سمجھے، مگر خیال رہے میری میز پر ایک تیز دھار چاقو پڑا ہوا ہے، اسے مت چھیڑنا۔ میں اب دفتر جا رہا ہوں مگر یہ کام دو گھنٹے سے پہلے ہو جانا چاہیئے۔"
"بہت بہتر صاحب"
انسپکٹر صاحب دفتر چلے گئے۔ قاسم باورچی خانہ صاف کرنے میں مشغول ہوگیا۔
ڈیڑھ گھنٹے کی انتھک محنت کے بعد اسنے باورچی خانے کے تمام کام کو ختم کردیا۔ اور ہاتھ پاؤں صاف کرنے کے بعد جھاڑن لیکر ملاقاتی کمرے میں چلا گیا۔
وہ ابھی کرسیوں کو جھاڑن سے صاف کر رہا تھا کہ اسکے تھکے ہوئے دماغ میں ایک تصویر سی کھچ گئی۔ کیا دیکھتا ہے کہ اسکے گرد و پیش برتن ہی برتن پڑے ہیں اور پاس ہی راکھ کا ایک ڈھیر لگ رہا ہے۔ ہوا زوروں پر چل رہی ہے جس سے وہ راکھ اڑ اڑ کر فضا کو خاکستری بنا رہی ہے۔ یکا یک اس ظلمت میں ایک سرخ آفتاب نمودار ہوا جسکی کرنیں خون آشام برچھیوں کی طرح ہر برتن کے سینے میں گھس گئیں۔ زمین خون سے شرابور ہوگئی۔۔۔۔۔ ۔۔فضا خوشی کے قہقہوں سے معمور ہوگئی۔
قاسم یہ منظر دیکھ کر گھبرا گیا اور اس وحشتناک خواب سے بیدار ہو کر "جی آیا صاحب، جی آیا صاحب" کہتا ہوا پھر اپنے کام میں مشغول ہوگیا۔
تھوڑی دیر کے بعد اسکی آنکھوں کے سامنے ایک اور منظر رقص کرنے لگا۔ اب اسکے سامنے چھوٹے چھوٹے لڑکے آپس میں کوئی کھیل کھیل رہے تھے۔ دفعتاً آندھی چلنا شروع ہوئی، جسکے ساتھ ہی ایک بدنما اور بھیانک دیو نمودار ہوا، جو ان سب لڑکوں کو نگل گیا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔قاسم نے خیال کیا کہ وہ دیو اسکے آقا کے ہم شکل تھا۔ گو قد و قامت کے لحاظ سے وہ اس سے کہیں بڑا تھا۔ اب اس دیو نے زور زور سے ڈکارنا شروع کیا۔۔۔۔۔قا سم سر سے پیر تک لرز گیا۔
ابھی تمام کمرہ صاف کرنا تھا اور وقت بہت کم رہ گیا تھا۔ چنانچہ قاسم نے جلدی جلدی کرسیوں پر جھاڑن مارنا شروع کردیا۔ ابھی وہ کرسیوں کا کام ختم کرنے کے بعد میز صاف کرنے جا رہا تھا کہ اسے یکا یک خیال آیا۔ "آج مہمان آ رہے ہیں۔ خدا معلوم کتنے برتن صاف کرنے پڑیں گے اور یہ نیند کمبخت ستا رہی ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔۔م جھ سے تو کچھ بھی نہ ہو سکے گا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔۔"
یہ سوچتے وقت وہ میز پر رکھی ہوئی چیزوں کو پونچھ رہا تھا کہ اچانک اسے قلمدان کے پاس ایک کھلا ہوا چاقو نظر آیا۔۔۔۔۔وہ ی چاقو جسکے متعلق اسکے آقا نے کہا تھا کہ بہت تیز ہے۔
چاقو کا دیکھنا تھا کہ اسکی زبان پر یہ لفظ خود بخود جاری ہوگئے۔ "چاقو۔۔۔۔۔� �تیز دھار چاقو۔۔۔۔۔۔ یہی تمھاری مصیبت کو ختم کرسکتا ہے۔"
کچھ اور سوچے بغیر قاسم نے تیز دھار چاقو اٹھا اپنی انگلی پر پھیر لیا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔۔۔اب وہ شام کے وقت برتن صاف کرنے کی زحمت سے بہت دور تھا۔ اور نیند۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔پیاری، پیاری نیند اب اسے بآسانی نصیب ہوسکتی تھی۔
انگلی سے خون کی سرخ دھار بہہ رہی تھی۔۔۔۔۔سا منے والی دوات کی سرخ روشنائی سے کہیں چمکیلی۔ قاسم اس خون کی دھار کو مسرت بھری آنکھوں سے دیکھ رہا تھا اور منہ میں یہ گنگنا رہا تھا۔ "نیند، نیند۔۔۔۔۔۔ پیاری نیند۔"
تھوڑی دیر کے بعد وہ بھاگا ہوا اپنے آقا کی بیوی کے پاس گیا جو زنان خانے میں بیٹھی سلائی کر رہی تھی۔ اور اپنی زخمی انگلی دکھا کر کہنے لگا۔ "دیکھئے بی بی جی۔۔۔۔۔۔"
"ارے قاسم یہ تو نے کیا کیا؟۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔کمبخت صاحب کے چاقو کو چھیڑا ہوگا تو نے۔"
"بی بی جی۔۔۔۔۔بس میز صاف کر رہا تھا اور اس نے کاٹ کھایا۔" قاسم ہنس پڑا۔
"ابے سور اب ہنستا ہے، ادھر آ، میں اس پر کپڑا باندھ دوں۔ مگر اب بتا تو سہی، آج یہ برتن تیرا باپ صاف کرے گا؟"
قاسم اپنی فتح پر زیرِ لب مسکرا رہا تھا۔
انگلی پر پٹی بندھوا کر قاسم پھر کمرے میں آ گیا اور میز پر پڑے ہوئے خون کے دھبے صاف کرنے کے بعد خوشی خوشی اپنا کام ختم کردیا۔
"اب اس نمک حرام باورچی کو برتن صاف کرنے ہونگے۔۔۔۔۔ ضرور صاف کرنے ہونگے۔۔۔۔۔ کیوں میاں مٹھو۔" قاسم نے انتہائی مسرت میں کھڑکی میں لٹکے ہوئے طوطے سے دریافت کیا۔
شام کے وقت مہمان آئے اور چلے گئے۔ باورچی خانے میں صاف کرنے والے برتنوں کا ایک طومار سا لگ گیا۔ انسپکٹر صاحب قاسم کی زخمی انگلی دیکھ کر بہت برسے۔ اور جی کھول کر گالیاں دیں، مگر اسے مجبور نہ کر سکے، شاید اسلیئے کہ ایک بار انکی اپنی انگلی میں قلم تراش کی نوک چبھ جانے سے بہت درد محسوس ہوا تھا۔
آقا کی خفگی آنے والی مسرت نے بھلا دی اور قاسم کودتا پھاندتا ہوا اپنے بستر میں جا لیٹا۔ تین چار روز تک وہ برتن صاف کرنے کی زحمت سے بچا رہا، مگر اسکے بعد انگلی کا زخم بھر آیا۔۔۔۔۔۔ا ب پھر وہی مصیبت نمودار ہوگئی۔
"قاسم، صاحب کی جرابیں اور قمیص دھو ڈالو۔"
"بہت اچھا بی بی جی۔"
"قاسم اس کمرے کا فرش کتنا بدنما ہو رہا ہے۔ پانی لا کر ابھی صاف کرو، دیکھنا کوئی داغ دھبہ باقی نہ رہے۔"
"بہت اچھا صاحب"
"قاسم شیشیے کے گلاس کتنے چکنے ہو رہے ہیں۔ انہیں نمک سے صاف کردو۔"
"جی اچھا صاحب"
"قاسم طوطے کا پنجرہ کس قدر غلیظ ہو رہا ہے، اسے صاف کیوں نہیں کرتے۔"
"ابھی کرتا ہوں بی بی جی"
"قاسم ابھی خاکروب آتا ہے، تم پانی ڈالتے جانا، وہ سیڑھیوں کو دھو ڈالے گا۔"
"بہت اچھا صاحب"
"قاسم ذرا بھاگ کر ایک آنے کا دہی تو لے آنا۔"
"ابھی چلا بی بی جی۔"
پانچ چھ روز اسی قسم کے احکام سننے میں گزر گئے۔ قاسم کام کی زیادتی اور آرام کے قحط سے تنگ آگیا۔ ہر روز اسے نصف شب تک کام کرنا پڑتا اور پھر علی الصباح چار بجے کے قریب بیدار ہو کر ناشتے کیلیے چائے تیار کرنی پڑتی۔ یہ کام قاسم کی عمر کے لڑکے کیلیے بہت زیادہ تھا۔
ایک روز انسپکٹر صاحب کی میز صاف کرتے وقت اسکے ہاتھ خود بخود چاقو کی طرف بڑھے، اور ایک لمحے کے بعد اسکی انگلی سے خون بہہ رہا تھا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ انسپکٹر صاحب اور انکی بیوی قاسم کی یہ حرکت دیکھ کر بہت خفا ہوئے۔ چنانچہ سزا کی صورت میں اسے شام کا کھانا نہ دیا گیا، مگر وہ اپنی ایجادہ ترکیب کی خوشی میں مگن تھا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ایک وقت روٹی نہ ملی۔ انگلی پر معمولی سا زخم آگیا مگر برتنوں کا انبار صاف کرنے سے نجات مل گئی۔۔۔۔۔۔ی ہ سودا کچھ برا نہ تھا۔
چند دنوں کے بعد اسکی انگلی کا زخم ٹھیک ہوگیا، اب پھر کام کی وہی بھر مار شروع تھی۔ پندرہ بیس روز گدھوں کی سی مشقت میں گزر گئے۔ اس عرصے میں قاسم نے بارہا ارادہ کیا کہ چاقو سے پھر اپنی انگلی زخمی کرلے۔ مگر اب میز پر سے وہ چاقو اٹھا لیا گیا اور باورچی خانے والی چھری کند تھی۔
ایک روز باورچی بیمار پڑ گیا اب اسے ہر وقت باورچی خانے میں موجود رہنا پڑتا، کبھی مرچیں پیستا، کبھی آٹا گوندھتا، کبھی کوئلوں کو جلا دیتا۔ غرض صبح سے لیکر آدھی رات تک اسکے کانوں میں "ابے قاسم یہ کر، ابے قاسم وہ کر" کی صدا گونجتی رہتی۔
باورچی دو روز تک نہ آیا۔۔۔۔۔۔ق اسم کی ننھی جان اور ہمت جواب دے گئی، مگر سوائے کام کے اور چارہ ہی کیا تھا۔
ایک روز اسکے آقا نے اسے الماری صاف کرنے کو کہا۔ جس میں ادویات کی شیشیاں اور مختلف چیزیں پڑی ہوئی تھیں۔ الماری صاف کرتے وقت اسے ڈاڑھی مونڈنے کا ایک بلیڈ نظر آیا۔ بلیڈ کو پکڑتے ہی اس نے اپنی انگلی پر پھیر لیا۔ دھار تھی بہت تیز اور باریک، انگلی میں دور تک چلی گئی، جس سے بہت بڑا زخم بن گیا۔
قاسم نے بہت کوشش کی کہ خون نکلنا بند ہو جائے مگر زخم کا منہ بڑا تھا، وہ نہ تھما۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔سیروں خون پانی کی طرح بہہ گیا۔ یہ دیکھ کر قاسم کا رنگ کاغذ کی مانند سپید ہو گیا۔ بھاگا ہوا اپنے آقا کی بیوی کے پاس گیا۔
"بی بی جی میری انگلی میں صاحب کا استرا لگ گیا ہے۔"
جب انسپکٹر صاحب کی بیوی نے قاسم کی انگلی کو تیسری مرتبہ زخمی دیکھا، فوراً معاملے کو سمجھ گئی۔ چپ چاپ اٹھی اور کپڑا نکال کر اسکی انگلی پر باندھ دیا اور کہا۔ "قاسم، اب تم ہمارے گھر میں نہیں رہ سکتے۔"
"وہ کیوں بی بی جی"
"یہ صاحب سے دریافت کرنا"
صاحب کا نام سنتے ہی قاسم کا رنگ اور بھی سپید ہوگیا۔
چار بجے کے قریب انسپکٹر صاحب دفتر سے گھر آئے اور اپنی بیوی سے قاسم کی نئی حرکت سنکر اسے فوراً اپنے پاس بلایا۔
"کیوں میاں، یہ انگلی کو ہر روز زخمی کرنے کے کیا معنی ہیں؟"
قاسم خاموش کھڑا رہا۔
"تم نوکر یہ سمجھتے ہو کہ ہم لوگ اندھے ہیں اور ہمیں بار بار دھوکہ دیا جا سکتا ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ا پنا بستر بوریا دبا کر ناک کی سیدھ میں یہاں سے بھاگ جاؤ، ہمیں تمھارے جیسے نوکروں کی ضرورت نہیں۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔سمجھے۔"
"مگر۔۔۔۔۔۔� �مگر صاحب"
"صاحب کا بچہ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔بھاگ جا یہاں سے، تیری بقایا تنخواہ کا ایک پیسہ بھی نہیں دیا جائے گا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ اب میں اور کچھ نہیں سننا چاہتا۔"
قاسم روتا ہوا کمرے سے باہر چلا گیا۔ طوطے کی طرف حسرت بھری نگاہوں سے دیکھا۔ طوطے نے بھی خاموشی میں اس سے کچھ کہا اور اپنا بستر لیکر وہ سیڑھیوں سے نیچے اتر گیا۔ مگر دفعتاً کچھ خیال آیا اور بھاگا ہوا اپنے آقا کی بیوی کے پاس گیا اور درد انگیز آواز میں اتنا کہکر "سلام بی بی جی۔۔۔۔۔۔می ں ہمیشہ کیلیے آپ سے رخصت ہو رہا ہوں" وہاں سے رخصت ہوگیا۔
خیراتی ہسپتال میں ایک نوخیز لڑکا درد کی شدت سے لوہے کے پلنگ پر کروٹیں بدل رہا ہے۔ پاس ہی دو ڈاکٹر بیٹھے ہیں۔
ان میں سے ایک ڈاکٹر اپنے ساتھی سے مخاطب ہوا۔ "زخم خطرناک صورت اختیار کر گیا ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔ہاتھ کاٹنا پڑے گا۔"
"بہت بہتر۔"
یہ کہتے ہوئے دوسرے ڈاکٹر نے اپنی نوٹ بُک میں اس مریض کا نام درج کیا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ ۔ایک چوبی تختے پر جو چارپائی کے سرہانے لٹکا ہوا تھا، مندرجہ ذیل الفاظ لکھے تھے۔

"صبر کرنے کے سبب تم پر سلامتی ہو"

عبداللہ بن محمد ھادی مہم کے سلسلے ميں مصر کے ايک ساحلي علاقے میں مقيم تھا، ٹہلتا ہوا ايک بار ساحل سمندر پر نکلا ، ديکھا کہ خيمہ ميں ہاتھ پاؤں سے معذور اور آنکھوں کی بینائی سے محروم ايک شخص پڑا ہوا ہے۔ اس کے جسم ميں صرف اس کی زبان سلامت ہے ايک طرف اس کی يہ حالت ہےاور دوسری طرف وہ با آواز بلند کہہ رہا ہے ۔
"ميرے رب مجھے اپنی نعمتوں پر شکر کی توفيق عطا فرما۔ مجھے تو نے اپنی مخلوق ميں سے بہت سوں پر فضيلت اور فوقيت بخشي ہے اس فوقيت پر مجھے اپنی حمد و ثناء کی فوفيق عطا فرما۔"
عبداللہ نے يہ دعا سنی تو اسے بڑی حيرت ہوئی ايک آدمی ہاتھ پاؤں سے معذور بینائی سے محروم ہے جسم ميں زندگی کی تازگي کا کوئی اثر نہيں اور وہ اللہ تعالي سے نعمتوں پر شکر کی دعا مانگ رہا ہے اس نے آکر سلام کيا اور پوچھا
"حضرت آپ اللہ تعالي کی کس نعمت اور فوقيت پر شکر اور حمد و ثناء کی توفيق کے خواستگار ہيں؟ " معذور شخص نے جواب ميں فرمايا اور خوب فرمايا۔
"آپ کو کيا معلوم ميرے رب کا ميرے ساتھ کيا معاملہ ہے بخدا اگر وہ آسمان سے آگ برسا کر مجھے راکھ کر دے ، پہاڑوں کو حکم دے کہ مجھے کچل دے ،سمندروں کو مجھے غرق کرنے کے لئے کہدے اور زمين کو مجھے نگلنے کا حکم دے ديے تو ميں کيا کر سکتا ہوں ميرے ناتواں جسم ميں زبان کی بے بہا نعمت کو تو ديکھئے کہ يہ سالم ہے کيا صرف اس ايک زبان کی نعمت کا ميں زندگی بھر شکر ادا کر سکتا ہوں؟"
پھر فرمانے لگے ، "ميرا ايک چھوٹا بيٹا ميری خدمت کرتا ہے ،خود ميں معذور ہوں زندگی کی ضروريات اسی کے سہارے پوری ہوتی ہيں ليکن وہ تين دن سے غائب ہے معلوم نہیں کہاں ہے اس کا پتہ کر ليں تو مہربانی ہوگی۔"
ايسے صابر و شاکر اور متحاج انسان کی خدمت سے بڑھ کر اور سعادت کيا ہو سکتی تھی عبداللہ نے بيابان ميں اس کی تلاش شروع کی تو يہ دردناک منظر ديکھا کہ مٹی کے دو تودوں کے درميان ايک لڑکے کی لاش پڑی ہوئی ہے جسے جگہ جگہ سے درندوں اور پرندوں نے نوچ رکھا ہے يہ اسی معذور شخص کے بيٹے کی لاش تھی۔
اس معصوم کی لاش اس طرح بے گورو کفن ديکھ کر عبداللہ کی آنکھوں میں آنسو بھر آئے اور يہ فکر لاحق ہوئی کہ اس کے معذور والد کو اس المناک حادثے کی اطلاع کيسے دے؟
ان کے پاس گئے اور ايک لمبي تمہيد کے بعد انہيں اطلاع دی، بيٹے کی وحشت ناک موت سے کون ہوگا جس کا جگر پارہ پارہ نہ ہو ليکن خبر سن کر معذور والد کی آنکھوں سے انسورواں ہوئے ، دل پر غموں کے بادل چھا جائيں تو آنکھوں سے اشکوں کی برسات شروع ہو جاتی ہے ، يہ بھی اللہ تعالي کی ايک نعمت ہے کہ غم کا غبار اشکوں ميں ڈھل کر نکل جاتا ہے، شکوہ و شکايت کی بجائے فرمانے لگے۔
"حمدو ستائش اس ذات کے لئے جس نے ميری اولاد کو اپنا نافرمان نہيں پيدا کيا اور اسے جہنم کا ايندھن بننے سے بچايا۔"

پھر ۔۔۔انا للہ ۔۔۔پڑھا اور ايک چيخ کے ساتھ روح جسم سے جدا ہو گئی۔

ان کی اس طرح اچانک موت پر عبداللہ کے ضبط کے سارے بندھن ٹوٹ گئے اور پھوٹ کر رونے لگا، کچھ لوگ اس طرح آنکلے ، رونے کی آواز سنی خيمے ميں داخل ہوئے ميت کے چہرے سے کپڑا ہٹايا تو اسے سےلپٹ گئے، کوئی ہاتھ چومتا تھا، کوئی آنکھوں کو بوسا ديتا تھا، ساتھ ساتھ کہتے جاتے تھے۔
ہم قربان ان آنکھوں پر جنہوں نے کبھی کسی غير محرم کو نہيں ديکھا ، ہم فدا اس جسم پر جو لوگوں کے آرام کے وقت بھی اپنے مالک کے سامنے سجدہ ريز رہتا ، جس نے اپنے رب کی کبھی نافرمانی نہیں کی۔
عبداللہ يہ صورت حال ديکھ کر حيران ہو رہا تھا ۔ پوچھا۔يہ کون ہيں ان کا تعارف کيا ہے۔ کہنے لگے۔ آپ ان کو نہیں جانتے؟ يہ رسول اللہ صلي اللہ عليہ وسلم کے سچے عاشق اور حضرت ابن عباس رضي اللہ تعالي عننہ کے شاگرد ،مشہور محدث حديث کے امام حضرت ابو قلابہ ہيں ۔
حديث کا ادنی طالب علم بھی حضرت ابو قلابہ کے نام سے واقف ہے ، صبر و استقامت کے پيکر اور تسليم و رضا کے بلند مقام کے حامل حضرت ابو قلابہ رحمتہ اللہ تعالي کی تجہيز و تدفين اور نماز و تدفين سے فارغ ہونے کے بعد عبداللہ رات کو سويا تو ديکھا کہ آپ جنت کے باغات ميں سير و تفريح کر رہے ہيں، جنت کا لباس زيب تن ہے اور يہ آيت تلاوت فرما رہے ہيں۔

"صبر کرنے کے سبب تم پر سلامتی ہو. اور آخرت کا گھر بہترين ٹھکانہ ہے۔"

عبداللہ نے پوچھا آپ وہي معذور شخص ہیں فرمانے لگے جی ہاں ميں وہی شخص ہوں اللہ جل شانہ کے ہاں چند بلند مراتب اور درجات ايسے ہيں جن تک رسائی مصيبت ميں صبر راحت، ميں شکر اور جلوت و خلوت ميں خوف خدا کے بغير ممکن نہيں اللہ نے اسی صبر و شکر کی بدولت ان نعمتوں سے سرفراز فرمايا ہے۔

نيت کا فرق

کیسی گاؤں ميں ايک بڑا پيپل کا درخت تھا لوگ اس سے بے شمار فائدے اٹھاتے تھے، درخت کی چھال سے دوائيں بناتے اور شہر جاکر بيچتے جس سے انہيں بہت نفع ملتا يہاں تک انہوں نے اس درخت کی پوجا پاٹ شروع کردي، اب يہ درخت شرک کا مرکز بن چکا تھا

وقت يوں ہی تيز رفتاري سے گزرہا تھا کہ ايک نيک شخص اس گاؤں ميں آکر رہنے لگے، انہوں نے لوگوں کو اس درخت کی پوجا کرتے ديکھا تو آگ بگولہ ہوگئے۔
شرک کا پرچار ديکھ کر ان کی آنکھوں ميں خون اتر آيا، غصے سے بے قابو ہوگئے، پھر غصے کی حالت ميں گھر گئے اور گھر سے کلہاڑي اٹھائي اور اس درخت کو کوٹنے کيلئے گھر سے روانہ ہوئے، ابھي وہ راستے ہی ميں تھے کہ اچانک شيطان انسان کے روپ ميں ظاہر ہوا اور کہا۔
جناب کدھر جا رہے ہيں؟
اس نيک شخص نے کہا کہ لوگ ايک درخت کو پوجنے لگے ہيں جو شرک ہے، اب اس درخت کو کاٹنے جا رہا ہوں۔
شيطان نہ کہا آپ واپس چلے جائيں اور اپنے کام سے کام رکھيں۔
يہ سن کروہ بھڑک اٹھے اور کہا نہيں نہيں ميں ہر گز ايسا نہيں ہونے دوں گا اور ميں اس درخت کو کاٹ کر ہی واپس جاؤں گا، اگرميں يہاں سے واپس چلا گيا تو اللہ تعالی کے سامنے کيا جواب دونگا، ميں تو اسے ضرور کاٹوں گا تاکہ شرک جڑ سے ہی ختم ہوجائے۔
شيطان نے بہت تکرار کی مگر وہ نہ ماننے والے تھے نہ مانے، چناچہ دونوں میں لڑاي ہوگئي، کچھ دير بعد انہوں نے شيطان کو زير کرليا۔
شيطان نے اب دوسري چال چلی، اس نے کہا اگر تم اس کام کو چھوڑ دو تو ميں اس کے بدلے تمہيں ہر روز چار تولے سونا دونگا، اگر يہ سودا منظور ہے تو بتاؤ؟
شيطان کي يہ چال کر گر ھوئي، کچھ سوچ کر انہوں نے کہا يہ سونا روزانہ تم مجھ تک ضرور پہنچايا کرنا ورنہ ميں درخت کاٹ دونگا۔
شيطان نے کہا ہاں حضرت آپ کو يہ سونا ہر روز صبح سويرے آپ کے بستر کے نيچے سے مل جائے گا۔
کچھ روز تک يہ چار تولہ سونا اس نيک شخص کو ملتا رہا ليکن ايک روز سونا نہيں ملا انہيں بہت غصہ آيا، پھر کلہاڑي اٹھائي اور درخت کو کاٹنے کي غرض سے نکلے، راستے ميں شيطان پھر ملا اور پوچھا۔
حضرت کہاں جارہے ہيں؟
انہوں نے جواب ديا اس درخت کو کاٹنے جا رہا ہوں کيونکہ تم نے چار تولہ سونا دينا بند کرديا ہے۔
شيطان نے درخت کاٹے سے منع کيا، ليکن وہ نہ مانے پھر دونوں کے درميان لڑائي ہوگئي اب کي بار شيطان کو فتح حاصل ہوئي، وہ بہت حيران ہوئے شيطان سے پوچھا پہلے تو ميں نے تمہيں ہرا ديا تھا اور اب کي بار تم نے مجھے کسيے ہراديا؟
شيطان نے مسکراتے ہوئے کہا مياں پہلے تو جو درخت کاٹنے جارہے تھے اس وقت تمہارا مقصد صرف اور صرف اللہ کي خوشنودي تھا، اس وقت تمہاري نيت نيک اور صاف تھی،ليکن اب تمہاري نيت ميں فرق آگيا ہے اور تم ميرے بہکاوے ميں آگئے ہوں۔
اس بار تم مجھ سے اس لئے مات کھاگئے کہ اب تمہارا ارادہ درخت کاٹنا نہیں بلکہ چار تولہ سونا حاصل کرنا ہے، اب تم واپس چلے جاؤ ورنہ تمہاري گردن تن سے جدا کردوں گا۔
يہ سن کر نہايت شرمندگي کي حالت ميں انہيں واپس لوٹنا پڑا۔
دوستو۔۔۔۔ آپ کي نيت صيح ہوگي تو آپ ہر کام ميں کامياب ہوں گے اگر نيت ہی بري ہے تو پھر وہہی ہوگا جو اس شخص کے ساتھ ہوا۔
دوستو۔۔۔۔۔۔ نيت ہی عمل کي روح ہے جس قدر نيت اللہ تعالي کيلئے خالص ہوگي اسي قدر اللہ تعالي کي مدد اور انعامات زيادہ ہونگے۔
ہميں بھي چاہئيے جو بھي کام کریں خالص اللہ تعالي کو راضي کرنے کے جذبے سے کريں۔

گنا ہو ں کا کفا را

نہر یا کسی تا لا ب میں ایک دوانسانو ں کے ڈوبنے کی خبریں اخبارو ں میں چھپتی رہتی ہیں ۔ کسی کو بچا لیا جا تاہے اور کئی اس طرح ڈوب کر غائب ہو جا تے ہیں کہ دریا یا نہر سے کئی کئی دن لا شیں نہیں ملتیں ۔ بعض کی لا شیں فوراً مل جا تی ہیں ۔ آپ سن کر یقینا حیران ہو ں گے کہ دریاﺅں کے کنا رو ں پر جہا ں لو گ پکنک اور کشتی رانی کے لیے اکٹھے ہوتے ہیں ، وہا ں پیشہ ور ملا ح اور مانجھی بھی مو جو د ہو تے ہیں۔ ڈوبنے والے اکثر نو جوان ہوتے ہیں جو شو خی میں آکر گہرے اور تیز پانی میں اتر جاتے ہیں ۔ ان میں کوئی ڈوبنے لگتا ہے تو اس کے ساتھی یا رشتہ دار شور مچا تے ہیں ۔ ایک دو ملاح دوڑے آتے ہیں او ر چند سو معاوضہ بتا کر کہتے ہیں کہ پہلے ادا کر و، لڑکے کو بچا لیں گے ۔
ڈوبنے کے ہر حادثے میں ایسا نہیں ہوتا اور نہ ہو سکتا ہے لیکن ملا ح اور پیشہ ور تیرا ک جہا ں مو قعہ دیکھتے ہیں اپنامطا لبہ پیش کر کے کسی کو بچانے کے لیے نہر میں یا دریا میں اترتے ہیں ۔ اگر کہیں ہجوم زیادہ ہو تو وہ دریامیں اتر جا تے ہیں وہ نہ اتریں تو ہجو م میں سے دو چار آدمی ڈوبنے والے کے پیچھے کود کر اسے بچا لیتے ہیں ۔ ایک مہینہ گزرا ، اخبارو ں میں تین خبریں اکٹھی چھپی تھیں جن میں بتا یا گیا تھا کہ بہت سے افرا د مختلف جگہوں پر ڈوب کر مر گئے ۔ میں جب بھی ایسی خبر پڑھتا ہو ں تو مجھے اپنے ڈوبنے کا و اقعہ یا د آجا تاہے لیکن لکھتے لکھتے رہ جاتا ہوں۔ یہ تین چیزیں اکٹھی چھپیں تو اپنا وا قعہ لکھ ڈالا ہے ۔ میرا واقعہ بہت پرا نا ہو گیا ہے ۔ اس وقت میں فرسٹ ائیر میں تھا۔ میں اچھی طر ح تیرنا نہیں جا نتا تھا۔ پھر میں بھی اپنے کالج کی کشتی رانی ٹیم میں شامل ہو گیا اور تیرا کی کی مشق کر نے لگا ۔ دریا ان دنو ں کچھ جوش میں تھا۔ ہمیں ہمارے پروکٹر صاحب نے ہدا یت کر رکھی تھی کہ اول تو کشتی پانی کا زور ٹوٹنے تک چلا نی ہی نہیں ۔ اگر ضرور چلا نی ہو تو دریا میں زیا دہ آگے نہ جانا ۔ میں ضرورت سے زیا دہ شرا رتی اور جوشیلا ہو ا کر تا تھا ۔ ایک روز میں تین سا تھیو ں کے ساتھ کشتی چلا رہا تھا ۔ ایک دوست نے دریا کے گہرے پانی میں پہنچ کر کہا جو کوئی یہا ں چھلا نگ لگا کر تیرتا ہوا کنا رے تک پہنچ جائے وہ اسے پچاس روپے انعا م د یگا ۔
باقی سب تو چپکے بیٹھے رہے لیکن میں نے جوانی کے جو ش کا مظاہر ہ کیا اور بلا سو چے سمجھے شیخی بگھا رنے کے لیے کشتی سے کپڑوں سمیت دریا میں چھلا نگ لگا دی ۔ میں نیا نیا تیرا ک تھا اور کبھی کبھی کسی تالا ب یا نہر کے کنا رے شو قیہ تیرا کی کر لیا کرتا تھا ۔ میں نے یہی سو چا تھا کہ بس یہ معمول ہی کی تیراکی ہو گی اور میں کنارے تک پہنچ کر پچا س روپے وصول کر لو ں گا ۔ میںنے جو کچھ سو چا تھا معاملہ اس کے بالکل الٹ ہو گیا۔ میں غوطہ لگا کر ابھر ا تو مجھے اپنی بے وقوفی کا احساس ہونے لگا۔ پانی گہرا اور بہا ﺅ بہت تیز تھا ۔ میں نے کنا رے کی طرف تیرنے کی کوشش کی لیکن میں پانی کے ساتھ بہتا چلا جا رہا تھا ۔ جلد ہی میں غوطے کھا نے لگا اور میرے اوسان آہستہ آہستہ کھو نے لگے ۔ اس کے بعد مجھے کچھ ہو ش نہ رہا ۔ جب ہو ش آیا میں دریا کے باہر اوندھے منہ لیٹا ہو ا تھا اور ایک بوڑھا شخص میری پیٹھ پر دباﺅ ڈال کر مجھے قے کروارہا تھا تاکہ دریا کا پانی جو میرے پیٹ میں چلا گیا ہے باہر نکل آئے۔
میرے دوست ،جن کے چہرے خوف اور دہشت سے زرد ہو رہے تھے، بھا گ کر کہیں سے ایک تانگہ لے آئے اور مجھے تا نگے میں ڈال کر گھر کی طر ف چل دئیے ۔ وہ بوڑھا شخص جس نے میری جا ن بچائی تھی ہمارے ساتھ ہی تا نگے میں بیٹھ گیا ۔ اس نے بتایا کہ ابھی میرے پیٹ میں پانی مو جو د ہے ۔ پھیپھڑوں میں پانی چلا گیا ہو گا ۔ اس کے لیے کچھ مالش وغیرہ کرنے کی ضرورت پیش آئے گی جس کے لیے اس کا میرے گھر جانا ضرور ی ہو گا ۔ میں نے سو چا کہ اس شخص کو میرے با پ سے انعا م لینے کا لا لچ ہو گا ۔
ہم لو گ گھر پہنچے تو میرے دوستو ں نے میرے والدین کو بتایا کہ اس بوڑھے شخص نے دلیری سے مجھے ڈوبنے سے بچالیا تھا جبکہ وہا ں کنا رے پر مو جو د ہٹے کٹے اور جوان ملاحوں نے میرے دوستو ں کے شور مچانے پر کہا تھا کہ پہلے وہ انہیں ان کا نذرانہ دیں اس کے بعد وہ پانی میں چھلا نگ لگائیں گے ۔ میں اپنے والدین کی اکلو تی اولا د ہونے کی وجہ سے ان کا بہت چہیتاتھا ۔ میرے اس طر ح بچ جانے پر وہ بوڑھے ملا ح کے انتہا ئی شکرگزار تھے ۔ اس بوڑھے کی کو شش سے میری جسمانی حالت بحال ہو گئی ۔ اس نے میرے گھر والو ں کو کہا کہ وہ میرے لیے کڑوا تیل گرم کر کے لائیں ۔ پھر اس نے نیم گرم تیل سے مجھے کبھی الٹا اور کبھی سیدھا لٹا کر میرے جسم کے مختلف حصو ں کی ما لش کی اور قریباً ایک گھنٹے بعد اس نے مجھے بالکل پہلے کی طرح تا زہ دم کردیا ۔ میرے والد صاحب نے نذرانے اورتشکر کے طور پر اسے پانچ سو روپے پیش کئے ۔ جو آج کے پانچ ہزار روپے کے برا بر ہو تے ہیں لیکن اس نے بِدک کر ہا تھ باندھ دئیے اور ہم سے التجا کی کہ خدا کے لیے پیسے میرے نزدیک بھی نہ لا ﺅ ،مجھے ان سے وحشت ہوتی ہے ۔ اس کے انکا ر کرنے کا اندا زکچھ ایسا اچانک اور بے ساختہ تھا کہ ہم حیران رہ گئے ۔ اس نے کہا کہ اس نے اپنا فرض ادا کیا ہے ۔
ہم نے اس سے پو چھا کہ آخر وہ کیو ں پیسے لینے سے اتنا خوفزدہ ہے ۔ پہلے تو وہ رسمی باتوں سے ٹالتا رہا پھر اس نے غمگین لہجے میں یہ کہا نی سنائی جو میں اپنے الفا ظ میں بیان کر تا ہو ں ۔ اس ملا ح کا ایک جوان بیٹا تھا اور دوسرے ملا حو ں کی طر ح اس کا بھی یہی کا م تھا کہ وہ لو گو ں کی مجبو ری سے فائدہ اٹھا تا اور جب کبھی کسی کو بچانے کا معاملہ ہوتا تو وہ بھی مدد طلب کرنےوالے سے پہلے پیسے طلب کر تا۔ اگر کوئی بد قسمت اسے منہ مانگی رقم ادا نہ کر سکتا تو وہ اس کی مدد سے انکار کر دیتا ۔ اس نے کئی ڈوبنے والو ں کی لا شیں کثیر معاوضہ پیشگی وصول کر کے نکالی تھیں ۔ اس ملا ح کا جوان بیٹا کشتی میں مسا فروں کو لے کر جا یا کر تا تھا ۔ ایک روزدریا میں اچانک طغیا نی آگئی اور کشتی الٹ گئی ۔ خد ا کا کرنا دیکھئے کہ وہ لو گ جو تیراکی نہیں جانتے تھے وہ تو کسی نہ کسی طرح کنا رے سے لگ گئے لیکن ملاح کا بیٹا ڈوب گیا۔ دوسرے روز اس کی لا ش ملی ۔
اس حادثے نے اس بوڑھے ملا ح کی کمر توڑ کر رکھ دی ۔ اسے بار بار یہی خیا ل آتا تھا کہ اس کا بیٹا بہترین تیراک اور ملا حو ں کی اولا د ہونے کے با وجود کیو ں ڈوب گیا؟ اس کے دل کو ایک خلش سی لگی رہتی تھی۔ ایک روز وہ یہ مسئلہ لے کر ایک بز ر گ کے پا س گیا۔ جس نے اسے بتا یا کہ اصل میں قدرت نے اسے اس طر ح اس کے گنا ہو ں کی سزا دی ہے اور بتایا ہے کہ اگر اللہ چاہے تو بڑے بڑے تیراکو ں کو ڈبو دیتا ہے اور اگر چاہے تو تیراکی بالکل نہ جاننے والو ں کو بچالیتا ہے ۔ اپنی کہانی سناتے ہوئے اس کی بوڑھی آنکھو ں سے آنسو بہنے لگے ۔ اس نے رندھی ہوئی آواز میں کہا ” یہ بات نہیں کہ میں یا میری بیوی اولا د کو پیدا کرنے کے قابل ہی نہیں تھے لیکن خدا نے مجھے پھر اولا د نہ دی ۔ مجھے کئی لوگوں نے کہا کہ دوسری شا دی کر لو لیکن میں سمجھ گیا کہ قدرت کی طر ف سے مجھے سزا مل رہی ہے۔اس وقت سے آج تک میں اپنے انہی گنا ہو ں کا کفا را ادا کر رہا ہوں ۔ میں دن را ت دریا پرہی رہتا ہو ں تا کہ کسی کو بھی میری مدد کی ضرورت ہو تو میں اس کے کام آسکوں ۔ مجھے اس طر ح ایک سکون سا رہتا ہے اورمیرا دل گواہی دیتا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ میرے گناہ معا ف کر دے گا “ .... اوروہ چلا گیا ۔

توصیف کا خواب

یہ صرف تعلیم ہی کا نتیجہ تھا کہ سُلطان توصیف ایک غریب باپ کی بیٹی اور معمُولی ماں کی بچی ، داؤد جسیے مُتموّل تاجر کی بہُو بنی ۔ باپ کے بعد اُس کا شوہر مُوسٰی ایک کروڑ پتی سوداگر تھا ، جس کی دوچار نہیں بیسیوں کوٹھیاں اور دس پانچ نہیں سینکڑوں کارخانے اِدھر اُدھر موجود تھے ، بنگال کا شاید ہی کوئی شہر ایسا ہوگا جہاں مُوسٰی کی تجارت نہ ہو ۔ اِس شادی کا سبب اور نکاح کی وجہ توصیف کی تقدیر یا مُوسٰی کی قدر دانی ، تعلیم کا انجام یا شرافت کا نام جو کچھ بھی ہو اِس نکاح کا نباہ اور اِس کاج کی لاج کا سہرا توصیف کے سر ہے ۔ خُدا کی شان نظر آتی تھی کہ وہ مُوسٰی جس نے کبھی خُدا کے سامنے سر نہ جُھکایا ہو ، بیوی کا کلمہ پڑھ رہا ہے ۔ اور وہ توصیف جس کے جہیز کی کُل کائنات ایک صندوق برات کے ساتھ تھا ، دن رات جواہرات میں کھیلتی ، یہ صرف عِلم ہی کا طُفیل ہے اور تعلیم کا صدقہ تھا کہ مَردانہ میں نکاح ہورہا ہے ، زنانہ میں مہمان بھرے ہیں اور توصیف سُلطان اَس خیال میں غرق ہے کہ بیل منڈھے چڑھتی دکھائی نہیں دیتی دولت جس کے کاٹے کا منتر نہیں ، صُورت جس جادُو کا اُتار نہیں ، دونوں غائب ۔ اب لے دے کے رہی سیرت ، محبت ، عادت ، خصلت ، یہ ہی ہتھیار ہیں جن پر فتح کا دارومدار ہے ، خُدایا تُو ہی بیڑا پار کرے تو ہو ، بظاہر تو یہ کشتی منجدہار میں ڈُوبی ۔
سُسرال پہنچی تو رئیسانہ شان ، امیرانہ ٹھاٹ ، نوکروں کا زور ، ماماؤں کا شور ، دولت کی کثرت ، روپیہ کی ریل پیل ۔ چاہیے کہ باغ باغ ہوتی ، نہال نہال ہوتی ۔ مُطلق نہیں ، ہر وقت اپنی دُُھن میں غرقاب اور فکر میں شرابور ۔ مُوسٰی امیر کا بچہ لاڈلا اور اکلوتا ۔ دنیا اس کے قدموں میں آنکھیں بچھائے اُلفت سے نا آشنا ، محبت سے ناواقف ، فرائض کی وقعت اور حُقوق کی تربیت اِس کی نگاہ میں ہو ہی نہ سکتی تھی ۔ ایسے شوہروں کے دل میں گھر کرنا ، لوہے کو نرمانا اور پتھر کو جونک لگانا تھا مگر بندگی کرنے سے کہتے ہیں خُدا ملتا ہے ۔ توصیف نے اپنے سامنے صرف رضامندی شوہر کا مقصد رکھا اور اُس کے حصول کے لئے کسی قسم کی قربانی سے دریغ نہ کیا ۔ یہ صحیح ہے کہ تعلیم کی طاقت بھی کچھ کم وزن نہ رکھتی تھی مگر بحیثتِ مجموعی مُوسٰی کا پاسہ بہت زبردست تھا ۔ وہ تمول کے ساتھ دولتِ حُسن سے بھی مالا مال تھا ، اور اُس کا حق توصیف کے مقابلہ میں قطعاً فائق تھا ۔ ان حالات میں بیوی کو قطعاً اس کے سوا چارہ نہ تھا کہ وہ صُورت کی کمی اطاعت سے پُوری کرے
نکاح کے وقت موسٰی کے ماں اور باپ دونوں زندہ تھے اور دونوں عاشقِ زار ۔ وہ فطرتاً گوارا ہی نہ کرسکتے تھے کہ بچہ کے دل پر محبت کا چرکہ تو درکنار آنکھ میں ملال کا مَیل تک آئے ۔ لیکن جال اور دانہ دونوں‌سامنے تھے اور موسٰی کی کیفیت اس وقت اُس پرند کی تھی جو پھندے میں پھنستے ہی جھٹکا مارے اور پَھڑ پھڑا کر نکل جائے ۔ اگر توصیف اُس وقت پُورا لاسہ نہ لگاتی تو مُوسٰی چلا ہی تھا ۔ اُس نے ایک تین ہی مہینہ میں وہ خدمت کی کہ اکیس برس کی کِھلائی بُڑھیا کی خدمات دل سے بُھلا دیں ۔ ہم پہلے ہی کہہ چکے ہیں کہ توصیف کا عورت ہونا اُس کی کمزوری نہ تھی بلکہ دوسرے سامان تھے ، دوسرے اسباب تھے ، دوسرے باعث تھے ۔ شکل وصورت کے اعتبار سے وہ کمزور اور یقیناً کمزور تھی ۔ اس گڑھے کو بھرنا اس کا فرض تھا ۔ اطاعت سے بھرا ، خدمت سے بھرا ، سچ بھرا ، جُھوٹ بھرا غرض جس طرح سے بھرا جائز اور درست ۔

باوجود اس اعتراف کے مُوسٰی اور توصیف کے حقوق برابر تھے ۔ ہم توصیف کی اس دُور اندیشی کی لاریب داد دیں گے کہ اُس کا یقین ، اُس کا ایمان ، اُس کا عقیدہ ہمیشہ یہ رہا کہ اُس کے گھر میں میرا اضافہ با معنی ہے اُس وقت ، جب میری ہستی اضافہ کرے مُوسٰی کی راحتوں میں اُس کی خوشیوں میں اُس کی مسرتوں میں ۔ اِس یقین کا ثمر ، اِس عقیدہ کا نتیجہ ، اِس ایمان کا انجام ظاہر تھا ، روشن تھا ، صاف تھا کہ ایک موسٰی کیا ، ادنٰی سے اعلیٰ اور چھوٹے سے بڑا ہر متنفس اُس کا گرویدہ تھا ۔توصیف کی زندگی کا یہ دور اور بے فکری کے دن پانچ سال تک مُستقل رہے ۔ چھٹے سال ساس کی موت نے اُس کی حالت میں ایک خاص تغیر کیا اور اب داؤد کی بہُو گھر کی ملکہ بنی ۔ اس اکرام و اعزاز نے ایک اور ذمہ داری بڑھائی اور اب خُسر کی راحت و آسائش کا بار بھی اُسی کے سر تھا ۔ اس ترازُو میں بھی توصیف ٹاکم ٹوک اُتری اور اِس خوش اسلوبی سے فرائض ادا کئے کہ داؤد بیٹے سے زیادہ بہُو کا دلدادہ تھا ۔ توصیف کی یہ خدمت یا اطاعتِ خیال یا فکر عارضی اور چند روزہ تھی مگر اس کی تہہ میں بیش بہا خزانے اور بیش قیمت جواہرات پوشیدہ تھے ۔ رُوحانی یا جسمانی اذیت جو اس سلسلہ میں توصیف نے بُھگتی فانی تھی ، مگر اس کے پھل رہنے والے اور پھول مہکنے والے تھے ۔ بڈھا داؤد قبر میں پاؤں لٹکائے بیٹھا تھا دو ہی سال میں رُخصت ہو گیا ، لیکن اس قلیل مدت میں توصیف نے وہ زیور جمع کر لیا جو آخر وقت تک جگمگایا اور وہ پُھول چُنے جو مرتے وقت تک نہ مُرجھائے
داؤد کے بعد توصیف اب گھر کی ملکہ تھی ۔ جائداد ، علاقہ ، رُوپیہ پیسہ ہر چیز کی مالک اور مُوسٰی کہنے کو خدائے مجازی اور حقیقتاً معمولی غلام ۔بُرا ماننے کی بات نہیں ، مشاہدہ ہے کہ مسلمانوں کے دورِ موجودہ میں دَولت لامذہبی کی جڑ ہے ۔ مسلمان دولتمند ہو کر نماز کا پابند کم ہی دیکھنے میں آیا ہے ، غریب جس نے مُفلسی میں تہجد اور اشراق تک ناغہ نہ کی ، مالدار ہوتے ہی مذہب کو طاق میں رکھ خدا سے ایسا فرنٹ ہوا کہ کبھی واسطہ ہی نہ تھا ۔ اس اصول کے تحت مُوسٰی کا اسلام روشن اور ظاہر مگر ہم اسی کو غنیمت سمجھتے ہیں کہ اس نے بیوی کی نماز روزہ پر کبھی ناک بَھوں نہ چڑھائی اور توصیف کی عبادت میں جو آسمان اور زمین کا فرق تھا اُس کی ذمہ دار وہ خُود تھی یا اُس کی دولت ۔

دریائے ہگلی کے کنارے ایک عظیم الشان کوٹھی ہے ، جس کے چاروں طرف ایک سرسبز اور خوشنما باغ مہک رہا ہے جس میں توصیف اپنے شوہر اور چار بچوں سمیت رہتی ہے ۔ کسی قسم کا رنج و غم اُس کے پاس آ کر پھٹکتا تک نہیں ۔ داؤد نے یہ کوٹھی کئی لاکھ رُوپے کے صَرف سے ایک گاؤں میں بنوائی تھی اور دُور دُور کے معماروں نے اپنی صنعت کے ایسے ایسے نمونے دِکھائے تھے کہ آدمی دیکھ کر دنگ رہ جاتا تھا ۔ رنگ برنگ کے پُھولوں سے اِس ایوان کو جنت بنا دیا تھا ۔ مِیلُوں تک ہوا ان کی خوشبو سے مہکی رہتی تھی ۔ طائرانِ خوش الحان کا نغمہ آبشاروں کی سُریلی آوازیں ، دلوں میں خواہ مخواہ اُمنگ پیدا کرتی تھیں ۔

بہتر سے بہتر زندگی جو دُنیا میں کسی عورت کی بسر ہو سکتی ہے وہ توصیف کی تھی کہ مُوسٰی اس کے اشاروں پر کٹھ پُتلی کی طرح کام کرتا اور دیکھ دیکھ کر جیتا تھا ۔ گیارہ سال کے عرصہ میں لڑائی جھگڑا تو درکنار کسی قسم کا اختلاف تک سُننے میں نہ آیا ۔
شام کے وقت ایک روز توصیف پائیں باغ میں ٹہلتی ہوئی باہر نکلی اور سڑک پر آئی ۔ مُوسٰی ساتھ تھا ۔ دونوں میاں بیوی پاؤں پیدل دُور تک نکل گئے ۔ آدمی نہ آدم زاد ، سرد موسم ، شام کا وقت مسافت خاک نہ معلوم ہوئی ، یہاں تک کہ دونوں ایک ایسی جگہ پہونچے جہاں ایک عمارت کی ٹوٹی ہوئی دیواریں اور گِری ہوئی محرابیں اُس کے مسجد ہونے کا پتہ دے رہی تھیں ۔ توصیف ایک ایسی ماں کے دُودھ سے پلی اور باپ کی گود میں بڑھی تھی جہاں مُفلسی نے مذہب کی وقعت رگوں میں کُوٹ کُوٹ کر بھر دی تھی ۔ گو تغیر حالت نے توصیف کے خیالات میں بہت کچھ فرق کر دیا تھا ، مگر اِسلام کی عظمت وہ جہیز میں لے کر سُسرال پہنچی تھی ۔ اُس وقت یہ دیکھ کر کہ خانۂ خُدا اس حالت میں ہو اور کتے اور گیدڑ اس میں رہیں ، دل پر ایک چوٹ سی لگی اور اُس نے مصمم قصد کر لیا کہ اس مسجد کو از سرِ نو تعمیر کرا دوں ۔ واپسی میں چند قدم کے فاصلہ پر اس نے ایک ٹوٹی سی جھونپڑی دیکھی نہ معلوم کیا دل میں آئی کہ قریب پہنچی اور دیکھا کہ ایک غریب عورت اپنے دو تین بچوں کو لئے خاموش بیٹھی ہے ۔ توصیف کو تعجب ہوا کہ اس جنگل بیابان میں یہ بچوں والی ماں کس طرح اپنی زندگی بسر کرتی ہو گی ، پُوچھا ،
”اری تُو کون ہے ؟ اور یہاں کیوں رہتی ہے ؟“
عورت خاموش رہی اور کچھ جواب نہ دیا ۔
توصیف : ” نیک بخت جواب کیوں نہیں دیتی

عورت : ” جی ہاں ، میں یہیں رہتی ہوں ۔“توصیف : ” تُو اکیلی رہتی ہے ؟“
اس سوال کے جواب میں کچھ ایسی داستان پوشیدہ تھی کہ عورت کی آنکھ میں آنسُو ڈبڈبا آئے ۔توصیف : ”رو مت ، حالت بیان کر۔“
عورت : ”بیوی کیا فائدہ ہو گا ، آپ کیوں سُنتی ہیں ؟“
اب عورت کا دل زیادہ بھر آیا تھا ۔ اُس کی آنکھوں سے آنسُو بہہ رہے تھے اور اُس کی آواز میں رقت طاری ہو چکی تھی ۔
توصیف : ”بتا ، اپنی حالت بتا ، شاید میں کچھ تیری مدد کرسکوں۔“
عورت : ” بیوی وہ سامنے گاؤں ہے ۔ اُس کے پاس دو بیگھ زمین اور ایک کنواں میرا ہے ، میرا شوہر کاشت کرتا تھا اور ہم یہاں سب اطمینان سے رہتے تھے مگر پار سال وہ وبا میں مر گیا ۔ زمیندار نے اُس کی دوائی ٹھنڈائی بھی کی مگر نہ بچا ۔ چالیس رُوپے کا حساب اُس کے مرے پیچھے زمیندار کا نکلا تھا ۔ میرے پاس دانت کُریدنے کو تنکا تک نہ تھا ۔ کہاں سے دیتی ، اُس نے میرا بچہ لے لیا اور اب مجھے اُس سے ملنے بھی نہیں دیتا ، مجھے اُس کی صورت دیکھے پانچ مہینے ہو گئے ۔ کئی دفعہ گئی ، دُھتکار دیا ۔“یہاں پہنچ کر عورت کی ہچکی بندھ گئی اور اُس نے توصیف کے قدموں میں گر کر کہا ،”بیوی ، میرا بچہ مجھ سے مِلوا دو خُدا تمہاری مامتا ٹھنڈی کرے۔“مُوسٰی : ” بس بیگم چلو دیکھو شام ہوگئی۔“

دونوں میاں بیوی اُس عورت کی حالت پر افسوس افسوس کہتے ہوئے گھر آگئے اور صبح ہی توصیف کے حکم سے مسجد کی مرمت شروع ہوئی ، اور ایک مہینہ کے عرصہ میں نہایت خُبصورت مسجد تیار ہو گئی۔چلّے کی سردی تھی اور کڑکڑاتے جاڑے ۔ وقت کی بات اور ہونی شُدنی کہ توصیف کا بڑا لڑکا کلیم خاصا چنگا بھلا کھیلتا مالتا اندر آیا اور پلنگ پر لیٹتے ہی اس شدت کا بُخار چڑھا کہ ماں اور باپ دونوں پریشان ہو گئے ۔ بارہ برس کا بچہ اور پہلونٹی کا ، دونوں میاں بیوی کا دَم ہَوا تھا ۔ علاج جس قدر توجہ سے ہوتا تھا اُسی قدر حالت ردی ہوتی جارہی تھی ۔ تین دن اور تین رات یہی کیفیت رہی ۔ دُنیا بھر کے جتن کر ڈالے ، مگر حالت میں کسی طرح فرق نہ ہوا ، اور نوبت یہاں تک پہنچی کہ خُود ڈاکٹر بھی مایوسی کی باتیں کرنے لگے ۔ چوتھے روز جب کلیم پر بیہوشی طاری ہوئی اور توصیف کیلجہ پر گھونسے مار رہی تھی
اُس کو اُس عورت کا خیال آیا جس کا بچہ صرف چالیس رُوپے کے واسطے اس سے بِچھڑا تھا ۔
دن کے تین بجے تھے ، وہ عورت اپنے بچہ کی یاد میں اپنی جھونپڑی میں خاموش بیٹھی آنسُو بہا رہی تھی کہ توصیف اس کے پاس پہونچی اور کہا ،
”چلو ، میں زمیندار کا رُوپیہ دُوں اور تُم اپنے بچہ کو لے آؤ۔“
عورت پر ایک شادئ مرگ کی کیفیت طاری ہوگئی وہ اُچھل پڑی اور ہاتھ جوڑ کر کہنے لگی ،
”کیا آپ میرا بچھڑا ہوا کلیم مجھ سے ملوا دیں گی؟“
توصیف : ” کیا تمہارے بچہ کا نام بھی کلیم ہے؟“
عورت : ”جی ہاں۔“
توصیف : ” ہاں چلو ، میرے ساتھ چلو۔“
عورت توصیف کے ساتھ چلی مگر راستہ بھر اُس کی حالت عجیب رہی ، وہ توصیف کا منہ دیکھتی تھی ، بِلبلاتی تھی ، گڑگڑاتی تھی ، ہاتھ جوڑتی اور کہتی تھی ،
” بیگم ، چالیس رُوپے بہت ہیں مگر میں ہاتھ جوڑوں گی اور دُوں گی ، پانچ چھ رُوپے کے برتن تو میرے پاس ہیں یہ لے جائیے ، تین رُوپے کا ایک ہَل ہے ، باقی رُوپیہ جب تک میں نہ دُوں آپ میرے کلیم کو اپنے پاس رکھ لیجئے ، میں دُور سے ایک دفعہ روز صرف دیکھ جایا کروں گی ۔“
توصیف اپنے بچہ کی علالت میں اس درجہ مُستغرق تھی کہ اُس کو دُنیا مافیا کا ہوش نہ تھا ، وہ کسی بات کا جواب دیتی تھی نہ دینے کے قابل تھی ، زمیندار کے گھر پر پہنچی تو توصیف کی صُورت دیکھتے ہی اُس کے اوسان جاتے رہے ۔ اُس نے رُوپے دیے تو کہنے لگا،
”حضور ، آپ نے کیوں تکلیف کی ، میں وہیں حاضر ہوجاتا۔“
اب ایک عجیب منظر تھا ۔ زمیندار نے کلیم کو آواز دی اور ماں کا دل جو بچہ کی جُدائی میں تڑپ رہا تھا مچھلی کی طرح لوٹنے لگا ، وہ کبھی دروازہ کو دیکھتی اور کبھی توصیف کو ۔ اُس کے ہاتھ توصیف کی طرف جُڑے ہوئے تھے اور زبان سے صرف اتنا کہہ رہی تھی ،
”بیگم تیری مامتا ٹھنڈی رہے۔“
کلیم باہر آیا ۔ ماں کی صُورت دیکھتے ہی دوڑا اور اس کے گلے میں ہاتھ ڈال کر چمٹ گیا ۔ اُس وقت عورت نے فرطِ مسرت سے ایک چیخ ماری اور توصیف کے قدموں میں گر کر کہا ،
”اے بیگم خُوش رہ ، بِچھڑا ہوا لال مُجھ سے ملوا دیا ۔“
توصیف کا دل اپنے کلیم میں پڑا ہوا تھا ۔ بھاگم بھاگ گھر آئی تو ڈاکٹر کے یہ الفاظ اُس کے کان میں پہنچے ،
”اگر اِس دوا سے بُخار اُتر گیا تو خیر ورنہ پھر حالت بہت خطرناک ہوگی ۔“
برابر کے پلنگ پر خاموش لیٹ گئی ، رات کے دس بجے ہوں گے ، بچہ کا بدن دیکھا تو بدستُور چنے بُھن رہے تھے ، مایوس ہو کر پھر لیٹی اور یقین ہو گیا کہ اب بُخار اُترنے والا نہیں ۔
بارہ بجے کے قریب بُخار اور تیز ہوا اور توصیف اب قطعی مایوس ہو گئی ۔ ان ہی خیالات میں غلطاں و پیچاں لیٹی ہوئی تھی کہ آنکھ لگ گئی ۔ دیکھتی کیا ہے کہ ایک شخص سامنے کھڑا کہہ رہا ہے ،
”توصیف ! خُدا کا اصلی گھر تو بِچھڑے ہوئے کلیم کی ماں کا دل تھا ، تُو نے اُس کی مامتا کی قدر کی ، تیرا بچہ تُجھ کو مبارک ہو ، تُو نے غریب کلیم کو ملوایا اُٹھ تُو بھی اپنے کلیم سے مِل ۔“
توصیف ابھی خواب ہی دیکھ رہی تھی کہ مُوسٰی کی اِس آواز نے اُس کو چونکا گھبرا کر اُٹھی تو بچہ پسینے میں نہا رہا تھا اور بُخار کا پتہ دُور دُور تک نہ تھا
